time for a new ride...

Welcome to my new blog!  It’s really, mostly, just like my old one, but now I can password protect my poems.  If you would like to read something that is password protected, just email me and I’ll give you the password.

Why passwords, you ask?  Well, some of my poetry pals have had their poems stolen.  Yes.  I know.  Stolen.  The economy is apparently so bad, people are resorting to poem stealing as a means of getting by.  Sad.  Very sad.

In other news, very sad, horrible news, did you hear about the WWII veteran who froze to death in his home because the power company limited his power supply for non-payment?  He was 93.  I feel like I want to do something, but, really, aside from somehow making sure this never happens to anyone else, how can anyone possibly help this man now?  Shame on the power company.  The article is here.

I have always had a soft spot for old men, long before my father grew old.  I would get a lump in my throat if I saw an old man eating alone in a restaurant.  That fact and this poor man’s death warrant a poem.  For sure.

  1. Hello Jill, Carolee, Jo and Mr and Mrs WordPress –

I love the look of your new blog, Jill, and hope you’ll be very happy wandering between these green trees and poeming.

“The economy is apparently so bad, people are resorting to poem stealing as a means of getting by.” Hee. It’s not funny but this is so wry it made me smile.

And a complete disgrace about the WWII veteran. In fact, it makes me want to rain curses down on the power company – but I wont’, bad karma …
